We drove up to the Bryce Canyon National Park from our base at the Dixie Hostel in Hurricane, Utah.
We found this canyon to be very distinctive for its pink stone. The stone has been sculpted into strange shapes called Hoodoos by ages of wind and rain. We walked along the Navajo trail down into the canyon, at one stage going through a slot canyon just a few feet wide, with just a thin strip of blue sky showing at the top.
We walked to the formation known as Queen Victoria, and we have to agree that the resemblence is uncanny. We also saw unofficial formations resembling ET and Prince Charles!
The blue sky, white clouds, green trees and pink stone made this canyon highly photogenic.
