We have come to the conclusion that travel is not just going somewhere, seeing things and doing stuff. That is still true of course, but more than that, travel is about going where you like, seeing what you like and doing what you like. It is the closest thing that there is to true freedom, in this age when practically everybody is a slave to money.
Our year of travel was the most incredible experience for us. We have so many memories to treasure. We have learned so much about so many different places and cultures. Through first-hand experience, we have gained so much insight into geography, geology and economics. We also feel that we have developed personally as well. We have grown in confidence and initiative. We have grown in communication, negotiation, planning and organisational skills. Most importantly, we realise just how very, very lucky we are. And on top of all that, despite having spent practically every hour of every day at each other’s side, we adore each other even more than when we started out a year ago.
If you work in an office or live in England, you’ll identify with us when we say that to breathe fresh air and feel warm sunshine on our skin every day was absolutely priceless. Furthermore, we have seen and done more in one year than we would otherwise have seen and done during our whole lifetimes.
Our sincere gratitude goes out to everyone who has helped and supported us during this year. Thank you so much and God Bless!
Happy be the man,
And happy he alone,
He who can call today his own,
He who secure within can say,
"Tomorrow do thy worst,
For I have lived, today"
